Macbook Pro 13 won't boot from internal Hard Drive

My Intel MBP 13 suddenly began showing the ? on start up. I replaced the hard disk drive and began reloading OS X. When I get to the disk utility it fails to erase the drive. I tried 2 other SATA drives with the same outcome. I took the original drive and plugged it into the USB port and it boots up fine. I have ruled out the internal SATA cable. I have reset the PRAM. Anyone know what the underlying issue might be?

all thats left really is the SATA controller on the main logic board. It'll be an expensive repair at that point. We offer a logic board repair service or you can just replace the board. We also buy old machines even ones not working which you could put toward a new machine.
