Today I tried to replace the display of my late 2006 MBP with the one I ordered at PBM. Installation itself went fine, but when I switched the Mac on, the view was not that I expected.

I took a picture of the screen for better explanation:


The font is hardly readable, the whole screen seems dim and overexposed (too little contrast) at the same time and there appears to be a gap between the pixels. It looks kind of grainy.

When I plugged a Cinema Display into the DVI-port, the image was fine (image below is low quality):


I checked the display cable and it‘s contacts, but the image didn‘t change.
When I unplugged the display and left the inverter plugged, the (grey) image was smooth and didn‘t have those lines.

I now wonder if I got a broken display or if it is the display cable or maybe something completely different.

I hope someone can help me with my problem.

I would speak to customer support. They'll probably want to compare the model of your original screen with what we sent you to see if your original screen was perhaps a weird revision. If your original screen is partially viewable, you may want to try installing that back to make sure the issue goes away.

Unfortunately my old screen is totally busted, it±‘s comletely cracked.

I will talk to custmer support thoug.
