Hello.

I am willing to purchase a trackpad from here and i would like to ask before.

It happened that I spilled a soda on my Macbook pro 13inch mid 2009 model A1278

And my trackpad kind of screwed I've cleaned it but unfortunately it still cannot work probably.

So Is it possible to replace the trackpad only without replacing the whole top/upper case of my mac?

I am not going to do it, an apple authorized store will do and he confirmed me that it could replace with no problem.

nothing damaged just my trackpad. and I am willing to buy it from here and want to make sure that the employee is correct.

As long as you are sure it is a mid 2009 model, we sell just the trackpad.

Please I have purchased the trackpad and I am sure it is under shipping process.

My Macbook pro model is A1278 and serial number is
Serial Number (system): W8928JQT66D

For better view this is a screen shot of my system information.

Please can you confirm again that the trackpad in MBP unibody mid2009 is replaceable?

Thanks again.

You will have to handle the logic board during the repair, so you may want a grounding wire or at least make sure you ground yourself before touching the machine.

it is fairly straightforward once you get to the top case. just unscrew it and screw the new one back in. if that didn't fix the issue it might be a problem with the top case or logic board.

Everything is fine now my new trackpad is fitted in and it is great!!!
