Have a MacBook Pro with what appears to be a nonfunctioning backlight. It boots fine and you can see the desktop, but it's very dark. No lines or flicker or intermittent brightness. No response to function keys.
Tried all of Apple's troubleshooting tips, turned off automatic dimming.
Replaced backlight inverter, then LCD, to no avail. Cable appears to be intact.
Anybody have a suggestion?

What type of MacBook Pro is it? Can you get the model number off the bottom?

Well, typically it would be the inverter board or the LCD itself, but if you have tested those, all that is remaining is the inverter cable if it got cut either from the LCD to the inverter board or the inverter board to the logic board. After that, all it can be is the logic board.
