I have a Macbook Pro A1150 2.16GHz Core Duo and I'm having screen problems. It looks like poor analog signal on a TV. There are flickering blue dots that are mostly noticeable in dark areas of the screen. I took my Mac into the Apple store and was told it was a graphics card or logic board that needed to be replaced. The tech didn't sound very confident though. My Mac is out of warranty and he quoted me a flat repair fee of $300. What do you think? I'm hoping to repair my Macbook Pro myself for much less.
Thank you!

That is generally going to be a logic board problem. $300 is a good deal if that is indeed the case. A replacement logic board will run you much more than that.
