I have a MacBook Pro 17" Core Duo 2.16Ghz with a broken logic board (video memory). I read that the Core 2 Duo 2.33 logic board would fit in the same case – so I bought one from eBay.

However… It turns out that there's a couple of connectors that are different between the two models…

Three 4pin - connectors
Three 2pin - connectors

The Core Duo have old white ones and the Core 2 Duo have new black ones.

What's the name of the new black connector type that I need for my cables?
Can I order these connectors somewhere? (Yes!?!)

I'm not going to let a couple of plastic connectors stop me from getting my precious MBP back to life! Especially not after an $550 investment in a new logic board from a different continent :)

I'm not sure what all you would have to get to make that board work in your machine. There are several differences including the cables and possibly the casing.

I already have the board and it's the six cables or rather the connectors that are different, everything else fits in the casing like it should. Yo have no idea where I can buy these "snap-in" connectors? Seems like I can't buy them anywhere as the Apple policy is to only change whole parts. What's the cheapest part with this cable connector attached that I can buy from you? CMOS battery?

Thanks,
Robert
