Hi i have a macbookpro and a few months ago i noticed one of the fans was not working and the other started making lots of noise as it was trying to cope with the other fan not working. This was when my it started to shutdown if i used it to long or put it under to much stress.
I purchased 2 new fans from PowerbookMedic and replaced both of my fans and the machine is now lots better than i was but it seems to still get to hot if i am processing lots of pictures in Lightroom or Photoshop.
The fans go up to 5000-6000 rpm and then temp continues to go up to 119° then it powers off.
I have checked install of fans and all looks good with airflow. I never had this problem before the fans started to go wrong. Is there any chance the overheating could have done some damage that is letting it get up to such high temps?
What can i try next, i am considering new cooling paste on processor etc.
What do you think.
Many thanks
Simon

Yea I would probably look at reapplying the thermal paste to the processors on the logic board. Besides that, make sure wherever you are sitting the machine isn't blocking the vents. Beds and couches where the machine sinks down can block the vents.

Thanks
This is doing this on a flat desktop with lots of space around each side.
Will try the paste route i think.
Cheers
