Logic board or magsafe board

Brother sent me his MacBook Pro. Apparently it was dropped and no longer starts up. How would I tell if I need to replace the magsafe or logic board?

Does the light on the power adapter still light up when you plug it in? If not, it is probably the magsafe board, otherwise the logic board.

yes the power light still comes on

it is most likely the logic board then.
