Hi - My macbook pro had a bad magsafe cable and fried my left i/o board. I bought a new magsafe connector.
I saw on the logic board where the part was burnt. It is right by the magsafe connector.
I bought a new left i/o board and replaced it..
The computer still will not startup. I dont have the hard drive in, will this cause the computer not to have power? Is there a cable between the left i/o board and the logic board that could be fried as well? I took out the logic board to see if there were any burn marks and found nothing. I have made sure that the ram was seated properly. I tried to reset apples (PSM) -Portable System Management Controller buy removing battery and magsafe and holding down the power button. There is no orange charge light on the magsafe power supply.
Is there a way to test individual boards? maybe the left i/o board I bought is defective?
any help is welcomed!
thx Paina
