 Post subject: Macbook Pro optical drive problem

I've recently replaced the superdrive in my 2g cd MBP (not reading and spitting discs out). The new drive spins up but has not been recognised.
It also won't eject the disc I inserted to test if the replacement was successful.

Can anyone advise me on ways to solve this problem?
