I just replaced the hard drive (the videos were excellent). Now when I close the iBook (G4 1.33 with 10.5. it starts to go to sleep, but then starts up within a few seconds. You can hear it and the Apple lights up on the top. It will then start to go to sleep again and continues to repeat this cycle. I must have pinched a wire or connected something incorrectly that enables the sleep function when closing the top. Where is the mechanism that enables the sleep when closing?
It is most likely going to be a problem with the reed switch. It's a tiny little magnet enclosed in a tube of glass. It is usually going to be on top of the optical drive. You may have it placed weird or the cable getting pinched.
