When i try to turn on my ibookg4 only the apple will show up i does not go more then that,I already installed the disk for the system operator and it wont work.How do i know if the harddrive is not working?

Best thing to do would be to boot up to your install disk, go into the Tools menu and run Disk Utility. From here you can scan your hard drive for errors.

I recieved your response,But i also wanted to know how to boot into the instaler cd.. Because when i put thei instaler disk the computer wont do anything i hope you can help me and thank you....

press and hold the option key as soon as you turn on the computer with the cd in the drive.
