Can the inverter be replaced on the 14" model of the iBook G4? A service center I brought this to said the whole LCD needs replacement, at a cost of $750 for parts and labor.
If so, can I use the 12" manual that is available on this site to do this?

And FYI....he hooked to an external monitor and all was fine. Looks like a backlight problem as the screen is dark and can be barely seen. So Apple thinks it is the inverter.

It will be a little different in places, but you should get the idea enough to do it.
