Post subject: logic board or hard drive Posted: Fri Dec 21, 2007 10:38 pm |

i've taken my ibook g4 to many mac stores and no solution has fixed my problem...before i spend anymore money i'd like to know what are the symptoms of a bad logic board vs damaged hard drive...i had a new hard drive put in but when i put in the install disk it cannot find the drive...then i tried disk utility and it found the drive but said something about a damage b-tree...i'm running out of money and i'm frustrated...any advice

That is almost always going to be a damaged hard drive. Unfortunately, the only way to truly know is to replace it and reinstall the OS.
