upgrading hard drive

I would like to upgrade my ibook g4 from 40 gig to 100 or 120 gig hard drive. what all is entailed in doing that? I will need to re downlaod my operating system, right? Can all things be transferred to the new hard drive? If so, how do I do all that. :?:

If you get an external hard drive enclosure, you can just clone the hard drive over to the new one using Carbon Copy Cloner.
