I have a 17" Powerbook G4 (A1107) that started behaving badly a few weeks ago. At first it wouldn't charge the battery at all, and now when I plug in the power supply, the green light turns on for a couple of seconds and then turns off. The computer won't turn on at all, when I press the power button.
The battery is very old and probably dead. However, whether the battery is connected or not doesn't make a difference. I've looked at the DC-in board cables and they seem to be ok. Before I toss the laptop, should I give it another try with a new DC-in board or battery?

First thing to try is a dc-in board. But it really should turn on with a charged battery, so it is most likely the logic board has gone bad.
