I just received a new power adapter from POWERBOOKMEDIC AND I
believe it is working just fine.
However, it has to be held in place at a certain angle (which takes trial and error that can last hours) to turn my computer on and charge the battery.
I had an easier time using it to charge the battery when I first received it a few days ago. Now. I am able to angle it in place so that I can turn on my computer but 9 times out of 10 it is not charging the battery--In part, i think it's my frustration with finding the exact angle and that it makes my hand hurt to hold it tightly in place for an hour or more.
I do have case damage around that port--one side looks pushed in a bit--
the damage has been there at least a year (it was bought refurbished)
last year when I bought the Apple adapter it worked but required a bit of turning--the light would be amber and then green
months later it was green all the time while it was charging and no more amber while still requiring that the correct spot was found
the correct spot became harder to find and the light did not always come on
the battery was replaced -it needed to be
finally, I ordered the new adapter from Powerbookmedic
it worked but required adjusting placement
where I plug in the adapter definitely wiggles and seems to be getting wigglier
do I replace the case ?
or the DC "whatever"
the USB, phone connection, and speaker connection next to the plug in for the adapter all work FINE
the problem is with power for the computer to turn on
and power to charge the batteries
right now the plug in is angled in place with the use of a small box
it is charging the battery slowly and intermittently
and any slight movement vould make it stop and
I would have to start all over again
Thanks and my apologies for the long message--I did not want to leave out any
