Post subject: PB Keyboard/key and power issues.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 27, 2008 4:44 pm
I have a 15inch powerbook about 3 years old. I believe that I spilled maybe a few drops of water on my keyboard and the left directional key has lost its function. Can I fix this by just replacing the key, do I need to replace the whole keyboard or do I have to go more in depth to fix it?

On another note, my laptop fell and the bottom casing near where the charger plugs in was dented a bit. It seems to just be cosmetic but if this turns into a problem, is it possible to just replace the part which the adapter plugs into, or will this be an expensive fix if the computer cant be charged due to the fall?

Thanks!

Usually it is going to require replacing the keyboard. You can try to take the key off and see if there is any remaining residue, but usually it isn't repairable without replacing the whole board.
