1.67 hr wont recognise hard drive

hi new to apple forums was wondering if anybody has had logic board problems with 1.67 high resolution model pb mines wont recognise hard drive tried all the usual stuff will only boot from external drive also will not eject cd and to top it off just out of warranty 2 mths apple told me not their problem. please help

If your internal drive and your optical drive both are not recognized you could have a problem with the IO controller on the logic board.

Have you tried unplugging the hard drive and then seeing if your optical drive works? Sometimes a defective tried can freeze up the IO channel so that nothing works.
