I was in process of taking out the modem screws, when the last one rounded out the philips slot. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get it out? It was all going so well then the reed switch cable broke, then this with the last modem screw. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Usually even if the screw is stripped, if you apply enough downward pressure on the screw with your Philips head, you can get it to turn. Otherwise, you could try to dremmel, but that should only be a last resort.
