We are working on the 17" manual, and it should be available shortly. On the 17" model, the screen is not epoxied to the shell, but Apple did make it so it would be difficult to seperate it. The main difference between the 15" and 17" models is that on the 15", the light grey trim is part of the back casing. On the 17" the light grey bezel is part of the front bezel, so you have to pry off the metal piece only.
