acording the the ati website, the mobile radeon 9700 is the first pin-compatible gpu. as far as i understand this means it is not soldered to the board but plugged in. i've recently purchased the 1.33 G4 powerbook and am wondering if anyone's had any experience upgrading to the 128 mb 9700?

I think the GPU is soldered on. Pin - compatible just means that you could unsolder the GPU and stick a new one in its place. I doubt that would work somehow though...
