Have a question about this device...
I'm wondering if the battery is completely kaput, doesn't charge, has no charge, if the Nano is connected to a 30-pin to USB connector, or plugged onto a dock (which normally charges the Nano), will the Nano power up?
Or does the Nano always run off the battery? So if there is no charge on the battery, it needs to charge a little before it starts up, and once charged a little, will begin to run, and continue charging?

the screen should at least show a charging symbol when it's plugged up to a computer. If it's not turning on at all, it is most likely the logic board.
