when you read the phrase "will not power on/DOA, red dot shows being activated", what does it mean to you? I am new to the mac repair world but I am thinking battery is that a logical deduction? Is there a trouble shooting guide out there? Any help would be appreciated.

The red dot is a water sensor that has been triggered. It is originally silver in color and if it comes in contact with water it changes it to red. This is how manufacturers can tell if the device has been damaged by the user from a spill or being dropped in water instead of a defect.
