Hallo,
I have a problem with my ipod nano (out of warranty). The Ipod shows that it has to be restored by Itunes. However, Itunes abort restoring with the message that the FW-download failed because the ressource is not available.
I have tried to format the ipod (in disk mode) with HP format tool, but it says there is no media. This tool found the ipod and shows a capacity of 0MB. Is the nand flash broken? Or is this a Firmware problem?
When I disassembly the memory, can I replace the nand flash? Of what consists the memory only Data (music) or also BootLoader/FW. Would it be enough to use Ipod restore in Itunes, after replacing the memory?
Has someone an advice for debuggung the problen?

unfortunately it is probably going to be a memory failure which is built onto the logic board. Some revisions had a screw on daughterboard for the RAM but I've never seen this for sale so you'd most likely have to replace the logic board anyways which isn't worth it these days unless you can get a good deal on ebay.
