Post subject: Titanium 400 had a fall... CD not working
PostPosted: Wed Mar 05, 2003 9:38 pm
Well, it happened. Didn't mean to, but my Titanium 400 fell off the couch onto the tile floor. :? Everything works, except the DVD-ROM. At first, it wouldn't accept the CD, but after a little force, it loaded but the computer doesn't read it. No recongnization. <sigh>

Any thoughts as to the problem?

My thought is that the laser is off, but I don't know. Would the average use be able to fix something like this? If I opened my Titanium  will that get me into more trouble?

I'm a little angry at myself, but now I have to fix this problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!!

Without seeing it in person, I would guess either the connection pins broke off or like you said an internal part of the dvdrom was damaged such as the laser. Either way you will need a replacement DVD-ROM.

You can order one from our online store HERE.
