Post subject: Replacing Pismo power jack
PostPosted: Wed Jan 09, 2008 5:55 pm
I just dropped by Pismo, and the power jack on the sound board shattered. (The "barrel" connector on the back of the Pismo that the cord from the power adapter plugs into.) I took the whole laptop apart, and it looks like this is the only problem. The solder joints snapped right off the board and the contacts also broke. So I'd like to try finding a new jack that I can solder onto the board. Can anyone give me any leads as to where I can order this, or part numbers? I assume Digikey or Mouser would have it, but they also carry a huge number of power connectors and I was hoping for some advice before I spent a couple of hours going through their catalogs. Just to be clear: I DON'T need a new sound board. I just need a way to plug my power cable into the sound board. Thanks!

Your best bet is to just replace the board. The part is available from our website for $139.95.
