I have my wife's old Lombard and am in the process of upgrading it. I need to know if the expansion bay superdrive includes the DVD decoder as this Lombard does not have it. I had purchased a CD RW/DVDR drive years back for my Lombard (that was stolen) and it worked fine. Same Lombard but I don't remember if I bought a decoder card. I also upgraded the cpu to a G4-400mhz and maxed the memory, installed OS X and loved it. I love my TiBook too.

The drive does not include a decoder card. Those are increasingly more difficult to get a hold of, and your best bet is eBay for that.
