Hi my Kindle 3 is freezing.
It will turn on sometimes after a hard boot and it works fine for a few minutes but then it crashes freezing on the current page.
I've tried all amazon's guides but no luck. I also have talked to their online help-desk but no luck there either.
During the few minutes it works I've restored factory settings and also updated the software. This seemed to add some time before it crashed again but that about it.
I found your take apart guide and using that I opened up my kindle and found a screw free inside the case. I've put it back and tightened everything up but it's still the same.
Do you have any advice what it could be/what part might need to be replaced?

Thanks for any help you can give.

I would predict it is most likely an issue with the onboard system RAM. If it's still under warranty, I'd see if Amazon would replace it. Otherwise, it would probably take replacing the motherboard to fix it.
