I want to install Mac OS X 10.3.3 and MacOS 9.2.2 on a new hard drive for my 500 MHz 384 MB RAM Pismo with a new 40 GB hard drive.

I got an external case for my old 12GB drive, but it will not boot from the external drive (HotDrive FireWire/USB2 case).

What is the procedure for installing 10.3.3 and 9.2.2 on a new hard drive and then restoring all my data from the old drive?

Suggestions? Checklist?? Procedure??? Outline????? Help??????

I did a 9.2.2 clean install a year ago so I am OK with that, but have NO EXPERIENCE with OS X at all...
