Cant find system on boot.

Hi all, I've got a standard Pismo and the problem I'm having is that it may take many attempts to boot as I get a system folder icon followed by a folder with a question mark, if I tap the underside of the case were the hard disk is it then seems to start ok, the machine can also freeze once it has started, I thought it may be the Hard disk but after reading the forum I'm not so sure, seems to boot of cd ok.
Any help would be very much appreciated, its getting a bit of a bind and I cant afford a new G4 yet

hmmm... sure does sound like the HD to me. Can you try to re-install the OS just to make sure from a CD?

But it really sounds like your HD is dying (dead).

Cheers for reply, It looks like it may have been a lose connection, I reseated the drive and all seems well at the moment, if it happens again I will fit a new drive
