Recently installed the QT 6.1.1 update on my Pismo G3. Crashed about 20 minutes after the install, and I tried to reboot. For some reason, no matter what, the HD wont spin up.

I tried resetting PRAM, unplugging batteries and adaptor and holding the reset button for 30 secs, etc and still the HD wont spin up. I get the folder with the flashing question mark.

It boots fine when booting from a 9.0.4 CD, but under First Aid and Disk Setup, the internal drive is not shown, nor is there an icon on the desktop (obviously since it never spun up).

Ideas? Can I swap this drive into a desktop and somehow test it (and maybe back it up?)?

very strange problem, I would say it was either a coincidence and your hard drive suddenly died or somehow the installer corrupted your hard disk. E-mail support@powerbookmedic.com with your problem so the other experts can see.
