I left the battery in my powerbook while I was away for 3 weeks and now it just won't charge up.
Apple has a patch called Battery Reset 2.0, but it only runs on OS9.
Does anybody know of a fix for OSX ?
Thanks
Peter

You can't recondition the batteries. If the battery doesn't charge, then either the battery is dead (most likely) or your power charger board needs to be replaced (less likely)

I've cruised Apple's forums as well. I had two batteries refuse to charge any further on the SAME DAY!!! Have reset power mamager, PRAM reset, checked viability of internal backup battery (it's okay). Still neither battery will charge on either side ov the mac. Can the power circuit be verified relatively easily? There were chats of the PMMU needi to be replaced on others. What do you think?

The PMU and power charger are the same board in the Pismo. If 2 batteries died at the exact same time, then the cause is most likely this board. We sell the part at our online store.
