I recently updated my 400MHz/320 MB Ram/20GB Pismo from OS X 10.5 to 10.2.6, and despite some guy at an apple store, Jaguar goes smoothly on my PowerBook.
Also last year I replaced the main processor because a low memory failure, trying to run a flight simulator with only 128 megs on OS 9.2
Also I
d like to now how to check if the cooling fan is working.

There isn't an easy way to check. The Pismo fan rarely comes on, and only comes on only conditions of extreme heat.
