I have an intermittant but generally persistant problem with red and green vertical lines on the display, especially in and around graphics. Any idea if this is the display going bad or could it be a bad connector or logic board? The display is still bright and sharp otherwise.

You need to replace the display. I've seen the problem a hundred times. A new display should solve all of your problems.
