I got a used Pismo. It didnt have a power adapter. I bought power adapter from you on Ebay. I plug it in and it wont turn on.

It has the battery. No lights. No sounds when plugging in adapter. Just seems dead.

Any thoughts?

I even tried resettnig the PRAM. Held in PRAM button waited 5 secs. Then hit power button. Nothing.

The problem is most likely (as in 99% likelihood") caused by your AC Sound / Power board. We sell this part in our online store for $99.95.

Pismo AC Sound / Power Board

It you wanted us to do the installation, that would be an additional $65.00.

This "FREE" laptop is getting more and more expensive. I would rather find a location closer to home for the actual repairs.

If you feel up to it, you can even order the part from us, grab the repair manual, and the torx screwdriver you need to open it up. But of course, we can't guarantee the sound board is the problem, not without us doing the repairs here.

I wish you luck in whatever you do.

8) I replace this card it took me all night, I had the CD on how to take this apart. You just need time to do it.

I have the same problem - my pismo will not consistently turn on.

Is this a known problem with the pismos ?

why did you replace the sound/power card ? because of audio problems or power problems ?

sometimes it turns on, sometimes it doesn't...

If the unit will turn on occasionally, then the odds are it isn't the Sound / AC board. This board is most normally associated with the laptop getting no power. If you are having intermitten startup, then the cause is most likely your processor or logic board.
