 Post subject: dvd rom dead?

My DVD rom spins, but the CD or DVD never appears. It used to work great, then it worked intermittently, now it spins, but I have no access to the CD or DVD. How can I tell if it is the DVD ROM that needs replacing or if there is some other part that is causing the DVD rom not to work?

Any ideas?

You need a new DVD drive. It's a common problem.
